Brenda LaVerna Gosser

LaVerna (Wallace) Gosser entered into rest on Feb 11, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Fifty Six on Dec 20, 1940 to Opal Pearl (Cartwright) and Vernal Wallace. She grew up in Fifty Six until she was 11 and her family moved to Michigan and then Indiana. LaVerna graduated from Geneva High School in Geneva, Indiana in 1959. Her family then moved back to Stone County where she remained the rest of her life. She married Walter Gosser on May 14, 1966 and they spent 42 happy years together. LaVerna worked for years at the Bank of Mountain View and then Mountain View Water department before retirement. Her faith was the most important thing in her life along with her family. She attended The Church of God for her lifetime and was a faithful member. She attended TOPS for years and cherished the friendships and fellowships with these ladies. She had a deep love of music that she shared with her husband and cherished his banjo performances with various groups. She was a loving and faithful mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her children, son, Victor Scott Gosser and wife, Lisa of Union City, TN and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Burns of Mountain View; one sister, Patsy Pinkston of Mountain View; grandchildren, Dayton Kay and JT Burns of Mountain View, Cristafer Gosser, Ashby, Kelby and Kylee Smith and Anniston Gosser of Union City, TN and three great grandchildren, Ian Gosser, Hadley and Ryder Wilson all of Union City, TN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Rebecca Ann Gosser.

Visitation is Tuesday, from 6 to 8 at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mtn. View.
Funeral is at 10am Wednesday, Feb 14 at the Church of God in Mtn. View. Officiating is Bro. Bobby Cartwright, Bro. Eugene Dixon, Bro. Eddie Passmore and Bro. Ben Harper with interment at Fifty Six Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jon Burns, David Ferguson, John Elliott, Trey Elliott, James Pinkston and Troy Dixon.

Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Pinkston, Herbert Gosser, Dewayne Smith, Gary Barker and Stanley Vaughn.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
