John Donald McCuinI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

December 1, 1932 - January 25, 2024

John Donald McCuin ''JD'', 91, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his home. He was born December 1, 1932 in Little Rock, a son of the late Kermit and Elizabeth (Loetscher) McCuin. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Jean Cornish and his brother, Kermit Leroy McCuin.

JD was a retired U. S. Civil Service employee and was a United States Marine Veteran.

John was a Christian, growing up in the Nazarene faith. He loved studying his Bible and teaching the word. He preached and taught at the Little Rock Compassion Center. He and his wife, Margarett, worked together by teaching in churches in the area.

John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margarett (Smith) McCuin of Little Rock. JD married into a large family. There were times the younger siblings lived with them, who thought of him as a 2nd dad, one still calls him Papa John. He loved and was a role model to them. There are several other family members who held special places in his heart. Including 2 special nieces, Patty Hardesty and Selma Cornish.

A passion JD and Margarett had was camping and RV traveling. They had traveled well over half of the United States. They travel most of the state of California, up to Oregon and over to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They have visited the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest, the Carlsbad caverns, the Great Smokey Mountains, traveling most of Interstate 70. These wonderful travels were also optional fishing opportunities they loved.

In more recent years, camping became more feasible a little closer to home. They enjoyed their camping spot in Redfield Campground, which allowed the return home for Church and safety from storms among other things, making it possible to continue their passion for camping.
