Monty Pratt Lowery

of Paris, AR

November 2, 1941 - November 21, 2023

Monty Pratt Lowery, 82, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Little Rock.

She was born on November 2, 1941 in Paris, Arkansas to her parents, Clem Robert Schwartz and Fannie Jane Loyd, in their farmhouse where she grew up, on the family property she lived on until her death. Monty was born on her sister's birthday and became her greatest gift. She was a bookkeeper for Harold Jones Construction Incorporated for around thirty-five years and an active member of First Baptist Church in Paris. Monty was a very creative seamstress, she enjoyed colorful flowers and gardening, watching hummingbirds and taking photographs with her family. She mostly loved praying and caring for others with a servant's heart and her lifelong friendships in her beloved community of Paris. Throughout her life she modeled to all that knew her, the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5: She loved big with a joyful heart, she was patient and gentle, showed everyone she met kindness and most of all Monty was faithful in her belief in a risen Savior and Lord. She faced life with incredible courage and a will to overcome any obstacles, even as her physical body began failing her. She beamed with joy when talking about her "boys", her sons and five grandsons. Monty was the definition of a family matriarch in the truest sense and a model of perseverance.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her previous husband, Louie Don Pratt and her sister, Evelyn Denton.

She is survived by her loving husband of twenty- three years, James Ralph Lowery; her two sons, Michael Rowland of Maumelle and Reese Rowland of Little Rock; five grandsons, Paris Rowland, Julian Rowland and wife, Julie, Ethan Rowland and wife, Kelsey, Preston Rowland and Pierce Rowland.
