Thomas "Tom" Michael Witting

of Conway, AR

March 21, 1966 - October 17, 2023

Thomas Michael Witting, 57, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, October 17, 2023, surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.

Tom was born March 21, 1966, in Davenport, Iowa to William "Bill" Joseph and Joanne (Duffy) Witting. The family later moved to Boonville, Missouri where Tom attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic grade school and Boonville High School where he found his love for sports. On May 31, 1991, he married the love of his life, Lori Esser. Tom and Lori spent the first couple years of married life living in Fayette, Missouri helping with the Witting family farms and later moved to Columbia, Missouri where their first daughter, Jami, was born. In July of 1997, the family moved to Conway, Arkansas where their daughter, Lindsey was born a few years later.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Joseph and Joanne (Duffy) Witting, and his father-in-law, Franklyn Esser.

Tom is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lori and their daughters, Jami (Hunter) Gould of Greenbrier and Lindsey (Dalton Barnum) Witting of Conway; one granddaughter, Avery June Gould; two brothers, Joe (Nicole) Witting of Boonville, Missouri and Jim (Jenette) Witting of Lee's Summit, Missouri; three sisters, Kathy (Hank) Neiderhelm of Columbia, Missouri, Jennifer (Phil) Costain of Fort Worth, Texas and Angela (Mike) Youtsey of Columbia, Missouri. He also left behind his faithful canine companion, Dixie, and grand-dogs, Jax, Suey and Finley.

When Tom married Lori, he married into a great family that will miss him dearly; mother-in-law, Norma Esser; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry (Gerry) Acay, Debbie Schuster, Donald (Jeanette) Esser, Mike (Georgia) Esser, Jeff (Lisa) Esser, Cindy (Bruce) Gentry, and Greg (Shelly) Esser.

Tom was the best "Papa" to Avery. He also enjoyed being the favorite uncle of 30 nieces and nephews and 30 great-nieces and nephews, at family gatherings with fun and games. He loved sitting on the deck with Dixie in good weather and cooking or grilling great food, but never creating the same recipe twice. We will all miss his amazing chocolate icing, delicious baked goods, and broccoli casserole.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Conway Animal Welfare Unit.
