Annis K. Burns

of Flippin, AR

January 31, 1944 - June 7, 2023

Annis K. Burns passed on from this life on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law while holding the hands of her granddaughters.

Annis was born on January 31, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Ann Pugh. Her older brother, Bob, and younger sister, Beth, were her lifelong confidants even as they lived hundreds of miles apart.

In 1976, she married her soulmate and life partner, Timothy Burns and resided together in Clifton, Arizona. Tim would later adopt her two sons as his own in 1981.
In 1980, the Burns family moved to Yellville, Arkansas where both boys graduated high school. Tim and Annis then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1987 to follow Tim's career as an ironworker. There together, they built a beautiful house and a home with their own hands. They raised horses, dogs, cats, and chickens, as well as a garden and orchard.

Annis held several roles throughout her career - bookkeeper, receptionist, clerk, babysitter - until both she and Tim retired. After living on their small ranch in Albuquerque for 17 years, they moved back to Flippin, Arkansas in 2004 to be closer to their family.

Annis and Tim were the embodiment of happily ever after. Together, they shared a life full of experiences. Raised horses and cows, enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, traveling, reading, and even bee-keeping. Annis was an artist and could do almost anything including pottery and ceramics, jewelry-making, painting, sketching, cooking, and more.

Words can't convey all that she was to those who loved her. She was a light to all she encountered, and she never knew a stranger. She radiated warmth, love, and compassion in everything she did. Her sons and grandchildren were the joys of her life and are her legacy.

Annis is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Sam) Peeples, sons: Erick (Nora) and Scott (Paula), five grandchildren: Kayla (Eric) Stafford, Christa Burns, Stephanie (Jake) Burns, Devin Burns, and Jacob Burns, four great-grandchildren: Brailey and Owen Pearce, Lily Stafford, and Easton Burns, nieces and nephews; and her two beloved dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ann, brother Bob, and husband Tim.

She will be laid to rest with her husband.

Arrangements by Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville are private.
