Elvin Dwight NashI am a Veteran.

of Mabelvale, AR

August 14, 1944 - May 24, 2023

Elvin "Al" Dwight Nash, a devoted man of God, passed away on May 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love and service. He was born on August 14. 1944 and throughout his life, Al exemplified the qualities of compassion, dedication and unwavering commitment to his family and church.

Al served in the Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. It was during his time stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas, that he met and married his first love, Lavonne Nash. Their union blessed them with 48 years of marriage, filled with love, shared experiences and the joy of raising a beautiful family.

Al's deep faith led him to serve as a deacon at Lynch View Baptist Church for an impressive 30 years. He was a constant presence, faithfully attending every church service and extending invitations to those he encountered in the neighborhood. Al's genuine care for others was evident in his role as an advisor and source of wisdom, as people often sought his guidance.

In 2015, Al was blessed with a new love in Sarilee and their union brought an extended family into his life. Including Cindy and Ron Wallace and Dave and Linda Glover, who became cherished family members, enriching his relationships and experiences. Al's devotion to God's teachings guided his actions and he found solace and joy as an active member of the Northside Church of Christ in Benton, Arkansas. He treasured the time spent with his church family, forging deep connections and fostering spiritual growth.

Al had a zest for life that extended beyond his faith. He found great pleasure in pursuing hobbies such as fishing, hunting, passionately supporting the Razorbacks and immersing himself in the world of outdoor activities through the Outdoor Channel. These pursuits allowed him to embrace the beauty of nature, while enjoying the company of loved ones and friends, including his beloved dog, Cheyenne.

Al's love and legacy continue through his family: Julie (James), Cavin, Amy Nash, Greg (Vandy) Nash, Phillip (Ginger) Gill, Jami (Andy) Turner, Laverne (Carl) Reynolds, Carol Davidson and Terri Rice.

He was a source of inspiration and strength to his grandchildren: Kody (Alex Taylor) Gill, Brady (Faith) Gill, Konley (Dustin) Dye, Satchel Nash, Sophie Nash, Sarah (Matt) Lenz and Tyler (Marisol) Schenkel. Additionally, Al had the joy of being a great-grandfather to Henry Dye, Navy Gill, Malachi Gill and Ava Lenz.

In mourning Al's passing, we also remember his loved ones who preceded him in death, including his beloved first wife, Lavonne Nash; his parents, Frances and Samuel Nash; his siblings, Wendell, Patricia and Rosalie, his brother-in-love, Ron Wallace; his nephew, Tommy Jones and great-grandchild, Rubi Lenz.

Al's presence will be deeply missed, but his enduring legacy of faith, love and devotion will forever inspire those whose lives he touched. May he find eternal rest in the arms of the Lord, knowing that his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
