1925-2023

We sadly lost a pillar of our community on Sunday, May 14, 2023, when she passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family.
Jean was born in Eaton, CO May 9, 1925, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Griffith, then moved to Arkansas with her family as a young child. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in West Memphis, active contributor to society, an avid dancer and organizer of many large family gatherings.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Peggy Parise (John) of Marion, AR; her son, Rudy Burns (Angi) of Fayetteville, AR; a sister, Geneva Hopkins of Ozark, MO; 2 brothers, Aubrey Griffith of West Memphis, AR and Donnie Griffith (Kathy) of Melbourne, AR; 9 grandchildren, Ryan and Carl Singleton, Jennifer Phillips, Martin and David White, Kacey Bates, Makayla Maturo, Megan Mitrani and Mallory Loesch; several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Burns; her parents, Walter and Patty Griffith; two sons, David and Robert Singleton; two sisters, Thelma James and Mickey Marshall and 4 brothers, Raymond, Clyde, Malcolm and Jimmy Griffith.
