Wayne "Buddy" Rooks Sr. of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away on May 1, 2023.

Wayne was a master painter, golfer and pool shark in his day. He was full of life wisdom and jokes for all. Wayne was known to all as Buddy, which was fitting, because if you were lucky enough to be known and loved by him, you found the best buddy you could ever have. He was the type of man that would give any and everything to the ones he loved. Buddy was never afraid to tell you when you were messing up, or how proud of you he was when you were not. He loved wholeheartedly and would give all that he had to make sure that you knew you had someone to stand on your side. Buddy was an avid golfer and shared that love of the game with his sons and grandsons. Buddy was a great man loved by all and will be missed dearly.

In his departure he leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Catherine Rooks; two sons, Wayne Rooks, Jr. and Bryan Helzer; one daughter, Angela Enfield; five grandchildren, Wayne, Andrew, Tabatha, Shelly and Josh; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Beginning Church on Highway 254, Dennard, Arkansas with Brother Darryl Black officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Dennard.
