Karen Montana, 71, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord March 17, 2023. She was born December 21, 1951 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Kenneth and Florence MacMillan.

Karen met her husband, John, on a blind date while he was serving in the Navy and stationed in Boston, Massachusetts. They were married March 24, 1973. After marriage they relocated to John's hometown of Gulfport, Mississippi. In 1989 after several moves across the south, they settled in Little Rock, Arkansas. Karen worked in banking until her retirement in 2013.

Karen found purpose and fulfillment serving her church, St. Mark's Episcopal, in many different facets. She was a member of The Daughters of the King, Community of Hope and Education for Ministry, just to name few. She also served as a facilitator for Walking the Mourners Path. If there was a need, she was grateful to serve. When not serving her church, her greatest joy in life was being a Nana to her grandchildren. Karen also enjoyed her weekly Mahjong group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Montana and her son, Jeremy Montana. Karen leaves one daughter, Laurie Burgess (Michael) and grandchildren, AJ Bohannon, Everett Burgess, Hayley Burgess and Kate Burgess.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 am Friday, March 31, 2023 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 N Mississippi St., Little Rock, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRAFoundation.org) or the St. Mark's Episcopal Church Foundation.
