Junior JD "Jake" Conner, 90, of Maywood, California died Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Maywood. He was born June 12, 1932, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Johnnie and Della May Conner.

Jake loved his family very much. From a young age, he worked on his family's farm and helped take care of his brothers. He enjoyed camping with his grandsons and road trips from Arkansas to California. He moved his family to Maywood, CA in 1963. He married his first wife, Bernice, on February 14, 1957 and they were married until 1979. Jake then met Eva Chavez in 1981 and began their common law marriage.

Jake is survived by his son, John Conner; daughter, Helen Conner-Tyree; step-daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Starkey, Priscilla (Guillermo) Ramos, Melody Garcia; step-son, Rene (Robin) Chavez; grandchild, Jason Matthew (Amber) Brannon; great grandchildren, Joshua Conner, Jasmine Conner, Jace Conner; seven step-grandchildren and sixteen step-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bernice; Eva Chavez; grandson, Joshua Dean (Becca) Conner; and step-sons, Tony Chavez and Raymond Chavez.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Pilgrim's Rest Church with Pastor Gene Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.
