Frances Smith-Maynard peacefully went to be with the Lord, February 23, 2023, surrounded by family and friends at her home in Memphis, TN.

Frances is survived by her son, Bobby Chism (Mary) of Southaven, MS, two daughters, Judy Varner (Jim) of Water Valley, MS, and Dolly Bugg of Memphis, Tn, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John Maynard of Memphis, TN, her parents, Frank and Coreldia Rose Smith of Memphis, TN., and 10 brothers and sisters.

Frances served in the medical profession as an LPN for many years before her retirement. Frances was a founder and faithful member of James Road Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Frances was a published poet and enjoyed reading and writing poetry. Frances cherished all the family gatherings and making her famous coconut cake. Frances had a deep love for her family and always had an open door for all of her family and friends.

Frances lived a full and productive life and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed by all, and leaves special memories in each of our hearts.
