Charles H. Harness was born on September 5, 1935 on the family farm near Leslie, Arkansas. He was 87 years old when he passed away on February 17, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary Sutterfield Harness; his son, Matt Harness (Paula) of Rockwall, Texas and daughter, Carmen Harness Williams (Waylon) of East End, Arkansas. He never tired of his beloved grandchildren, Megan Cuzen (Ben) of Dallas, Texas, Brittany Smith (Hunter) of Newport, Arkansas and Lauren Williams of East End, Arkansas. He had two great grandsons, Wyatt Smith and Max Cuzen and three great granddaughters, Brooklyn and Presley Smith and Camden Cuzen. Charles was the son of the late Guy and Myrtle Harness and the younger brother of Betty Acree Johnson (2021).
Charles retired in 1999 from the Razorback Linen Company of Mountain Home, which he co-founded in 1978. Charles was an avid sportsman his entire life. Whether he was running along Big Creek as a kid or coaching youth baseball as a young dad or pursuing his lifetime sport of fishing, he was always engaged in outdoor activities. He served as a past president of the Lake Norfork Bass Club. He was a member of East Oakland Baptist Church. We cherish the memories of our father, poppy, uncle, friend and coach. To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord.
