July 13, 1935 - January 26, 2023

Nola Jean Fincher was born July 13, 1935 and passed away on January 26, 2023. She was a Christian, Mama, Grandmama to her precious grandchildren and a dear friend to all who knew her. Her business career was quite extensive and successful. She was a trailblazer setting an example, as a working wife and mom when few women worked outside their homes. After graduating from Keiser High School, where she received awards for her skills in typing and shorthand, she continued her education. She attended Arkansas State University, Mississippi County Community College, Southern Baptist College and Paducah Community College in Paducah, Kentucky.
Nola was the City Treasurer and Recorder for the city of Keiser after she retired. She was the owner and operator of "The Parlor", specializing in designer cakes and pastries. Nola was an Accounting Clerk at Wilson Funeral Home, Employment Specialist at Dawson Employment and served as the Executive Director of United Way of South Mississippi County. She also served as Office Administrator for Osceola Chiropractic Center.
For most of her career, she was Senior Personnel Administrator for BICC Cables Corporation in Paducah, Kentucky and she was a longtime Employment Manager for Crompton Company, Osceola.
She loved her career but loved her family more. Nola never missed a birthday, holiday, or an opportunity to be with her family. While living out of state, she often traveled through rain and snow to visit her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship and a vivacious character. Nola always treated others the way she wanted to be treated, with kindness and respect.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Surhea Hunkapiller; two brothers, Paul Dean and Billy Wayne; a granddaughter, Jennifer Renae McClelland and a great-grandson, Danny Ray McClelland.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Smith and Joey of Meridian, MS and Connie Smith and Larry Brown of Osceola; grandchildren, Philip McClelland of West Memphis, Randy Smith and Michelle of Paragould and Adam Smith of Keiser; great-grandchildren, Natasha Smith of Paragould, Sabra McClelland and Logan Miller of Marion, Claudia Smith of Paragould, Rose Smith of Paragould, Ryder Smith of Paragould and Kayla McClelland of West Memphis; Great-great grandchildren, Zophia Smith of Paragould, Lyla Miller of Marion and Salem Smith of Paragould and sister, Cheryl Doss of Montgomery, Alabama.
