Ms. Lillie Bivens spent 54 years of marriage to her husband, James prior to his death on December 5, 2009. She was a homemaker, and a retired employee of the Arkansas State Health Department. Lillie lived most of her life in West Helena before moving to Monticello in 2016. She was a member of Lexa Baptist Church for over 40 years where she taught Sunday School for many of those. Lexa Baptist Church was always her church ''home'' and even after relocating to Monticello, she continued to receive bulletins and prayer support from the membership.

She spent her life giving to and supporting her family members and church friends. She was a great cook, especially of the fish and wild game that were provided to her by family members. She enjoyed her family time and watching her grandchildren grow into adulthood. She was a big fan of the trips that she would take with her sisters to go and see how many pennies that they could invest during an evening visit to some of the local casino's. She was totally independent up until the last few months of life, driving her car and traveling at her pleasure.
During the last few months, she was kept comfortable and received a lot of love and care from her personal care giver, Ms. Kathy Pace. Also, a special thanks to the Monticello Hospice and Home Health team for the support and help they provided the family.
