Robert "Paul" Cox

of North Little Rock, AR

September 16, 1957 - November 26, 2022

Robert ''Paul'' Cox, 65, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. He was born on September 16, 1957, in Newport, Arkansas, to the late Bob and Janeil Cox.

Paul was a caring husband, father, brother, and friend. His two-year battle with glioblastoma showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Before undergoing his last major surgery, he looked up at the surgeon and said, ''You do your part, and God will take care of the rest.'' He was a firm believer in the Lord and trusted His plan in every situation. His faith was inspiring.

Paul has two older sisters, Peggy Hays and Pam Reagan. After graduating high school, Paul began working at Cox Fixture & Refrigeration, Inc. Paul made a lifelong career out of selling remanufactured equipment. He was a hard worker. Paul loved his job, but more importantly, he loved the relationships that were formed when interacting with each customer. Paul loved people. He was always the first to make a joke just to see people laughing and having a good time.

At 30 years old, while he was working at a grocery store in El Dorado, Arkansas, Paul met Christie, and it was love at first sight. It did not take Paul long to know that she was the one for him. They married the same year and began their beautiful and adventurous life of 35 years together. Paul and Christie were always together and were truly best friends. Together, they have raised two children: Robert Paul Cox II (wife, Elizabeth) and Katherine Paige Cox. Paul always talked about how proud he was of his children. He taught his children to love the Lord and to put Him first in every aspect of life.

Paul was kind to everyone he met and led by example. Paul loved going on trips with his family, hitting the dance floor, making people laugh, boating on the lake, deep sea fishing (he enjoyed videoing everyone having fun more than the actual fishing part), and he loved eating and sharing his food pictures/videos with his family and friends. Paul loved life!

In hopes to find a cure for this disease, Paul is donating his brain to Harvard Brain Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, to help aid in glioblastoma research. A special thanks to Dr. Ali Krisht and the medical team at CHI St. Vincent North, the medical team at CARTI Cancer Center, and the many helpers from Arkansas Hospice.

Paul will be honored on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Paul's family will receive condolences from 1-2 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow.
