Venson Woodrow Callahan

of Proctor, AR

June 4, 1965 - October 22, 2022

In the early evening hours of October 22, 2022 Venson Woodrow Callahan, surrounded by his loved ones, went home to be with the Lord.

Venson, better known as Vince, was born on June 4, 1965 in Forrest City, AR to Betty and Tommy Callahan. He was a graduate of Marion High School, where he played football for the duration of his high school career. From an early age, he worked with his father, Tommy, at their family business, Ace Rewinding of West Memphis, winding motors and servicing well pumps. He went on to become the owner and established Ace Rewinding as a staple in the farming community. He was well known throughout the eastern counties of Arkansas for his honesty and integrity and his knowledge as an experienced electrician and was well-liked by anyone with whom his path crossed.

He married the love of his life, Letricia "Trish" Callahan, in December of 1991, bringing together their children to create a loving family of six. They were married 31 years and shared four children, Justin Callahan, Stephanie Higginbotham, Joe Bridges and Shane Bridges. He was also the proud "Paw Paw" to seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Vince was an avid hunter which he shared with his father and his son. He enjoyed both duck and deer hunting and could often be found at their deer camp at Moro Bay during hunting season. When he wasn't hunting, he also loved playing golf and would spend his weekends on the course with his family and friends.

Vince was a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend. He forged lifelong friendships through his business and his involvement with the community. Losing him leaves an unfillable hole in the hearts of those who loved him most.

Vince leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Trish, and his two sons, Justin Callahan and Joe Bridges (Allison); his daughter, Stephanie Higginbotham' his daughter-in-law, Cierra Bridges; his mother, Betty Callahan; his sister, Holly Stewart (Doug); his niece, Kayle, along with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Callahan; his son, Shane Bridges; his maternal grandparents, Everett and Louise Wilkerson; his paternal grandparents, Dow and Geraldine Callahan and his father- and mother-in-law, Billy Joe and Virginia Henry.

"We hold you close within our hearts, and there you shall remain, to walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again".
