He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Mary Frances King Crosthwait; 3 children, Coast Guard CPO Michael Wayne Crosthwait (Christine) of Arnold, MD, Steven Roger Crosthwait (Shelley) of Memphis, Katie Willard (Shane) of Wynne; 4 beloved grandchildren, Camille Crosthwait of Seminole, FL., Matt and Luke Blake of Wynne, Tanner Crosthwait of Arnold, MD; 4 siblings, Wayne Crosthwait (Shelly) of Memphis, Ronnie Crosthwait (Chris) of Peoria, AZ, Terry Crosthwait of TX and Laquita Angst (John) of Lebanon, MO; 2 aunts, Pat Crosthwait of West Memphis, Sue Hudson of Nashville, TN and cousins, Bill and Tom Crosthwait. He also leaves many nieces and nephews who loved "Uncle Mike".
Mike loved the military his whole adult life and retired after 30 years in the Army, Army Reserve and the National Guard as an E8 Master Sergeant. He was one of the last ones drafted during the Vietnam era, did reconnaissance over there, taught in the Army Reserve and trained men for gas warfare in Desert Storm and Desert Shield in Ft. Stewart, GA and Ft. Campbell, KY. When he was first drafted, he was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX and was a driver for a while for General Swartzkof. He always had interesting stories to tell about his experiences in the Army and summer camps, etc.
Mike was outgoing and leaves behind many friends who loved him and will miss him. He was an equipment salesman for most of his career, but he owned the Locksmith Shop in West Memphis many years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church, West Memphis. We would like to thank Elite Hospice and their aides for their loving care for him, with special thanks to Carrie Branch, his nurse.
