Neva Cook (Butler) Ball, 96, of Batesville passed away September 21, 2022.
She was born March 8, 1926 in Sulphur Rock to Virgil James Butler and Pauline Pleasant (Wright) Butler.
Cookie was the salutatorian of Batesville High School class of 1943 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arkansas Lyon College in 1946. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter BQ. She was a part of the Shady Ladies at First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching Razorback football and loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include two nephews, Virgil James Butler III (Laura), and John W. Ball, and three nieces, Kim Dunlap (Tim), Donna Turner, and Francesca Stafford.
Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Wright Butler, and Virgil James Butler, Jr., and her husband, Alvis P. Ball.
Pallbearers are Jim Sproles, David Blair, Jim Rodgers, Tim Dunlap, Dr. Mike Hopkins, and Jon Ives. Honorary pallbearers are John Ellis and David Smith.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:00am at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Katie Pearce officiating under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
