Dollie Fern Frazier Fike

Dollie Fern Frazier Fike passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 in Little Rock. She was born March 9, 1928 in Dodson, Texas to James Coy Frazier and Macie Ford Frazier. Fern's grandfather, J.W. Ford, moved her mother, sister, brother and her to Desha, Arkansas in 1937 during the Great Dust Bowl. Fern's father, along with eight mules, rode the train back to Arkansas. Fern joined Desha Methodist Church when she was 15 years old. Fern and her sister, Delores Frazier Wyatt and brother, James C. Frazier, Jr. attended Desha High School. Fern attended Arkansas College. Delores married Wayne Wyatt and moved to St. Louis, then returned to Batesville and James, Jr. graduated from UA Fayetteville as a civil engineer. James married Elaine Carmel and moved to Helena, Arkansas.

Fern married Thomas Dale Fike in 1946 and moved to Lonoke where he was employed by Kroger. Fern was employed at First State Bank. They moved to Batesville where they had two daughters, Pamela Clark (Kelly Clark) and Penelope Bowen (Larry Stinson). Fern has two granddaughters, Jennifer Hughes (John Hughes) and Ashley Bowen (Alex Brownstein); two great-grandsons, Jackson Hughes and Benjamin James Brownstein. Fern and Dale were married for 50 years, after his death, Fern traveled extensively. Her travels included England, Wales, Scotland, the Bahamas and many US states.

Fern loved genealogy and helped Co-Author a book on the Frazier family that dated back to 1620.

Fern and Dale joined Central Avenue Methodist Church in the 1950's where she raised her children. She attended Argenta United Methodist Church while in Little Rock. Fern joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1946 and was a member for 76 years. Fern was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughter's of the American Revolution and a Mayflower descendant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Macie Ford Frazier; husband, Thomas Dale Fike; sister, Delores Wyatt and brother, James C. Frazier, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Mark Wyatt, Jordan Taylor, Jack Bowen, Colby Frazier, John Hughes and Jackson Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Williams and Robin Frazier.

Graveside services will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Rev. Will Choate officiating.

Due to the spike in Covid cases the family requests masks to be worn at the service.
