Bernece Kelley Myatt

of Harrison, AR

June 15, 1933 - September 5, 2022

Bernece Myatt, age 89, of Harrison, Arkansas departed peacefully from this life on Monday, September 5th, 2022. She was eldest daughter born to Leck and Beryl Robertson Kelley on June 15th, 1933 in Marshall.

From an early age she knew the meaning of family, she didn't want her brother Carroll to go to school by himself, so she went with him even though she really wasn't old enough to be there. Bernece loved basketball and played when she was in high school. The only thing to distract her was a boy named Jimmie Dale who swept her off her feet. They married October 1, 1950.

From this union came four children, Cindy (Ronnie) Ramsey of Harrison, Carolyn (Ken) Maestri of Mountain Home, Carla (Tom) Sigmon of Springdale and James (Gwen) Myatt of Harrison. Adding to her blessings were 9 grandchildren, Candice, Tom, Blair, Chera, Andrea, Derek, Alison, Caitlin and Jordan, as well as 17 great-grandchildren. To this she would say, all of these are mine and not an ugly one in the bunch.

While Bernece was the smiling face at the Searcy County Bank for 20 years, she was also the cook, seamstress, hostess and mom for the neighborhood, handyman, ranch hand, teacher, counselor and always the person you could count on no matter what.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Jimmie Dale Myatt and her brother, Carroll Kelley. She is survived by her sister, Ella Lee Smith; sister-in-law, Vernelle Crandall; brother-in-law, Jess Myatt; her children; grandchildren; great grandchildren and a host of friends who will miss her terribly.

Brother Bill Wheeler is officiating the services. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 8th from 6 to 8pm and funeral services will be at 1pm on Friday, September the 9th at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Our mom would not want to you to be sad at her passing, she would want you to remember the good times and memories made over the years. Really and truly, she would.
