Richard Case Risner, Jr., age 90, was the son of Dick and Virgie (Brand) Risner. He was born February 23, 1932 in Stone County and passed away August 18, 2022 at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View. Junior accepted Christ as his Savior on May 11, 2003 and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Junior grew up in the Richwood's community with his parents and eight siblings. He attended school there through the eighth grade. After graduating from Mountain View High School in 1950, Junior went to work in California for a short time. Upon returning to Arkansas, he joined the Navy and served from 1952-1956.

While on leave in 1955, he married Iva Nell Poff. Junior and Iva Nell moved to Wichita, Kansas after he finished his time in the service. Returning to Stone County to raise their three daughters, Junior worked for JK Sutherland Feed Mill, raised cattle, was a self-employed rice hull driver and eventually worked for and retired from the Arkansas Forestry Commission.

After retiring, he enjoyed attending the events of his eight grandchildren and more recently, his thirteen great-grandchildren, when he was able. He also liked watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks on television.
Preceding him in death are his parents; eight siblings; brothers, Emmett, Chuck, Carl (Shorty), Bobby Risner and sisters, Joyce Dodson, Mary Holland, Lois Kilgore and Anna Massey; daughter, Teresa Cowell and son-in-law, Gerald Ivy.

Survivors include his wife, Iva Nell; daughters, Ronda Ivy, Pam (Johnny) Thomas; son-in-law, Eddie Cowell; grandchildren, Jason (Andrea) Cowell, Nick Cowell, Donovan Cowell, Richard Ivy, Adam Ivy (Gilbert), Mary Ann (Rusty) Long, Amy (Jesse) Davis, Sarah (Jason) Newman; great-grandchildren, Aynslee and Jasey Cowell, Casen and Caelyn Cowell, Izzy and Emma Ivy, Chloe and Grant Long, Brentley, Tate, Paysley and Audra Davis and Addison Newman, as well as extended family, church family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Cowell, Nick Cowell, Donovan Cowell, Richard Ivy, Adam Ivy, Rusty Long, Jesse Davis and Jason Newman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Cowell, Kenneth Crymes, Dean Hinesley, Jack Morris and Johnny Thomas.

Visitation for Junior will be from 6-8PM Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
