Guenther Heye Meyer

of Mountain Home, AR

October 21, 1946 - August 18, 2022

Guenther Heye Albert Meyer, 75, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away at his home on August, 18, 2022 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
Guenther was born on October 21, 1946 in Pewsum, Germany. He moved to the U.S. in 1995 and became a citizen in 2010.
Guenther was larger than life---full of grit, confidence, laughter and opinions. He was a lifelong soccer fan and a forever SV Werder Bremen superfan. His favorite color was green. Guenther loved good food and enjoying it with others. He was always on the hunt for a "real" bratwurst. He was known for giving TSA a hard time when traveling back from Germany, trying to sneak back favorite foods. Guenther loved making babies laugh with his deep voice and could talk to anyone. He used the same deep voice to sing wherever and whenever. Over the years, he shared his life with many beloved dog and cat companions.
Guenther hated being late and movies were always too long. A lover of most food, he hated rice, unless it was cooked in milk and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. He hated the phrase "never mind".
Guenther is survived by his wife, Ulrike Meyer; daughter, Uta (David) Meyer of Little Rock, Arkansas; sons, Gunnar Meyer of Oldenburg, Germany and Gerrit Meyer of Bremen, Germany; grandchild, Max Martindale of Little Rock; extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhard and Gretchen Meyer.
Guenther's family would like to extend a special thanks to Christy Pennington, Kathy Meyer and the dedicated staff at Legacy Hospice for their care, support and advocacy. Additional thanks to the many friends and coworkers that offered support and flexibility during this difficult time.
The family will hold a private celebration of life.
Memorial gifts in Guenther's name may be made to an Arkansas charitable organization of choice.
