John Avaltroni, Jr.

Tillio John Avaltroni, Jr. went to see his heavenly Father on Friday, June 10, 2022. He was surrounded by his beautiful family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ida Pettinari Avaltroni and his father, T.J. Avaltroni, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Glynda Gale (Crockett) Avaltroni; his two children from a previous marriage, Alex Avaltroni and his wife, Meagan of Longview, TX and Kelly Avaltroni of Raleigh, NC; and his stepsons and daughters-in-law, Jody and Carla Maness, Chad and Kathleen Maness, Clint and Amber Maness. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Sam, Sadie, Trevor, Bailee and Cole, Jake, Ty and Aleigh, Drake and Sydney, Bryce and Autumn, Gracie and Tristan. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Ivie, Lettie and Beckett.

John was born on April 28, 1948, in Shelby, Mississippi. John was the youngest of six children and grew up on a farm in the Mississippi Delta. He is preceded in death by two of his sisters, Eileen Rocconi and Josephine Cannon. He is survived by his remaining two sisters, Mary Ann Cintgran and Janie Hayes and one brother, Paul Avaltroni.

He graduated from Shelby High School in Shelby, Mississippi and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science (both in Mathematics) from the University of Mississippi. He worked at Entergy Corporation in Mississippi and eventually relocated to Arkansas. He retired from Entergy in 2011 with 32 years of service. His hobbies included anything involving tinkering. He loved building birdhouses and making decorative outdoor Christmas displays which he hand-drew and painted. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in his yard and playing bocce ball with his family.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 17, 2022, beginning at 10:00am, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Cleveland, Mississippi, with a visitation at 10:00am, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers or a memorial gift, John asked for donations to be made to the following: Arkansas Ronald McDonald House, Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

At a later date, John's cremains will be interred in the Hope Mausoleum at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Arkansas.
