On May 9, 2022 the Lord called home Jimmy Rodgers Smith of West Memphis, AR. Jimmy was born in Joiner, AR on March 3, 1931.

Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army. Serving as a Deacon, he was an active member of First Baptist Church of West Memphis for 39 years. His love for the Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals, gardening and golfing with his buddies Carl and Joe (who walked 9 holes regularly well into their 80's) was known by all around him. As a Babe Ruth League Baseball coach, Jimmy's teams won several championships. Jimmy always had an entertaining story to tell and his charismatic personality drew people to him.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Doris Evelyn Smith of West Memphis, AR.; daughter and husband, Jennifer and Kelby Blackard of Southaven, MS. Son, Robert Mark Smith of Culpepper, VA and grandson, Wesley Smith of Earle, AR.
Jimmy is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Nona Kinney and sister, Monte Staggs.
Jimmy's faith and kindness impacted all those around him and he will sorely be missed. He was a great Father and friend to all. And he never met a stranger.
