Richard "Dick" Allen Price

of Little Rock, AR

April 8, 1938 - May 2, 2022

Little Rock's own, international radio personality, KAAY's long reining night-time on-air talk-show host. "Dick" Price, born April 8, 1938, in Little Rock, died peacefully in the early morning hours on May 2, 2022. It is only the calendar that reads the man was 84 years old, we know he never seemed anything like a fella who was eighty-four.

Born to Ruth Ernestine "Pris" Price, whom he endearingly introduced to everyone as his; 'Silver-haired-mom-honey,' Dick lived in Little Rock and Eudora AR., Toledo OH., Huntsville and Mobile AL., Key West and Cocoa Beach FL., US Territory of Guam, Colorado Springs CO., and Juneau Alaska.

Dick married the love of his life, Pat Dowling, in St Louis, Missouri, July 5, 1980. They were privileged to spend 41 years together as spouses and best friends. Dick and Pat have one son Nicholas Price. Nick meant the world to Dick he was proud of him and the man he became.

Dick also had two sons from an early marriage, Rick, and Scott, whom he and Pat love dearly. Dick Price dearly enjoyed all his children and shared stories of each one's adventures or achievements. The Price household also served as 'Foster Parents' to a half dozen youngsters, opening their hearts along with their home to include three foreign exchange students. He was a devoted and caring husband; and was immensely proud of the life he shared with Pat.

Dick knew he was a blessed man to have such a marvelous group to call: 'My Family.' He also learned the gold n magic of being a grandfather to five grandchildren. Sara, Rick, Victoria and a pair of little girls, Isabella, and Emma, who intensely won his heart and continuously put a smile on his face and pride in his heart. Dick was a loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend to all.

Dick's life-long calling was in broadcasting. He started in AM Broadcast radio from an early age and worked in radio and television in Little Rock, Mobile, and Huntsville, AL., Key West, and Cocoa Beach FL., with a detour to Colorado Springs, Co.

In 1979 Dick Price gained his greatest notoriety, with his broadcasting talents at KAAY, a powerful 50-thousand-Watt station, heard in dozens of nations across the globe. He received calls from various states and developed a devoted following of listeners and gatherings of fans. Later, he would work for KARN 920 and KHLT1010AM. He stårted a talk show on KAAY in Little Rock on weekday evenings, just in time for the Iranian Hostage crisis. He eventually adopted the name for the show "Singing Pig Talk Show.

'Spontaneity, Adventuresome and his passion and love for life' cloaked with laughter, could best describe Dick. He was a licensed private pilot and flew the family on various vacation trips. He also had a great love for automobiles and boats. Sitting for any length of time with Dick was to hear endless stories about radio, his mother's trips around the world, the love of his life Pat, their children, and his precious grandchildren, and of course all Dick's stories had that magical touch of his very own wit and humor. Wherever he went Dick Price littered the world with a trail of echoing laughter.

In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of kindness and put a smile on someone's face.
