Junior Ray Sutterfield

of Morning Star, AR

November 10, 1956 - April 17, 2022

Junior Ray Sutterfield, age 65 of Morning Star, Arkansas passed from this life into his eternal home on Easter Sunday, April 17th, 2022 at his home surrounded by the people he loved the most. He was born in Batesville, Arkansas on November 10th, 1956 to Coy Edward "Jinx" Sutterfield and Oleta Elma Zinn Sutterfield.

Junior Ray worked for a number of years at the County Road Department and met many dear friends during that time. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing the guitar, music, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters. Above all though, he loved leading people to Christ. In his earlier years, Junior traveled all over the southern portions of the country evangelizing. Junior, along with his wife, saw vast numbers of people saved, healed and delivered. Junior later became the Pastor of Loafer's Glory Community Church in Morning Star, Arkansas. He pastored LGCC for 22 years. He devoted his entire heart, soul, and life to the church....and the people in it became his family. He was one of the few "hell fire and brimstone" preachers left. Junior Ray wasn't afraid to step on your toes if he thought it would get you into heaven. He didn't just preach the gospel, he lived it out....up until his very last breath. If Junior could leave one last message with his family and flock, it would simply be "You don't want to miss this. It's everything I told you it would be. This isn't goodbye, this is just I'll be seeing you soon."

Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Jinx and Oleta Sutterfield. Survivors include his loving wife, Carla Treat Sutterfield of the home; one daughter, Beth Harris and husband, Chris of Greenbrier; two granddaughters, Cami and Abby Harris; and a congregation and whole host of other family and friends that will mourn his passing and miss his presence until we are all reunited again.

Funeral service for Junior Ray will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 at Loafer's Glory Community Church in Morning Star, Arkansas with Bro. Darin Holliman officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will follow at Spoonflat Cemetery in the Fifty Six Community of Stone County, Arkansas.
