Arvel Gaylen Honea

Arvel Gaylen Honea, 76, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Paris with his family by his side.

He was born on April 19, 1945 in Altus, Arkansas to his parents Arvel Otto Honea and Gloria Jean (Martin) Honea. Arvel worked as a mill operator for the old feed mill in Paris. He loved his wife and family and enjoyed going fishing, playing a game of solitaire or poker and watching an old episode of Gunsmoke.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Mary (Goodin) Honea; two daughters, Gloria Jean Johnson and Kimberly Sue James; his sister, Ann Scott.

He is survived by his three sons, Gaylen Honea and wife, De, Daniel Honea and Suzanne Cannon and Michael Honea all of Paris; one daughter, Barbra Ann Keezer of Paris; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; adopted family member, Katrina Haggard; other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Wayne Thacker. Burial will follow in Baxley Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tim Pettigrew, John Johnson, Rob Grigsby, Dean Grigsby, Mike Hice and Ted Parker.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Ronnie Hutchins.

The family of Arvel Gaylen Honea would like to express their appreciation to the Paris Area Agency on Aging for the love and care given to their father while in their care.
