Thomas Von Foresee

Thomas Von Foresee was born June 22, 1934, in Lead Hill to Thomas Arch and Monna Jones Foresee. He graduated as Salutatorian of the Class of 1953 at Lead Hill High School. After graduation, he moved to Kansas City, MO, graduated from Auto and Diesel Mechanic School, and then worked for Kulman Die Casting. He then changed careers and worked for Hills Brothers Shoes, where he opened several stores in different cities. He furthered his career in Sales and worked as a Department Manager for Sears Roebuck in Overland Park, Kansas. He again changed career paths and began logging in Louisburg, Kansas. He then built highway ramps in Parsons, Kansas. In 1977, He moved back home to the Lead Hill - Harrison area and went to work for Mass Merchandisers where he drove a truck for many years. He later had a wood shop and then drove an over-the-road truck as an owner-operator, which he drove until he was 80 years old.
Tom gave his life to the Lord on January 21, 1990, and was baptized under the ministry of Brother Don Wright at the Oregon Flat Church.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Arch and Monna Foresee; brothers, Denton Lee, Thomas Dwight, and Donald Eugene Foresee; a sister Phyllis Marshall and his brother-in-law Doy Marshall; son Garry Von Foresee and daughter-in-law Nancy Foresee; two great grand babies; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Allen and Maxine Crosswhite, Max and Mary Stackhouse and Gene and Evelyn Stackhouse.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Loretta Jane Stackhouse Foresee, Sister-in-laws Freddie Foresee and Argie Jackson, Daughter Judy McElroy and son-in-law Houston McElroy, son Dwayne Foresee, and daughter-in-law Karen Foresee, son Mark Foresee, and daughter-in-law Doris Foresee.
Grandchildren Robbie and Lindsey Hayes, Greyson and Chelsea Foresee, Jamie Foresee, Derek and Christina Foresee, Tyler and Kristy Beaver McElroy, and Taryn Foresee. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Ollie, Emma, and Lena McElroy, Haylea, Hunter and Remington Gonzalez, Caleb, Tristan and Amelia Foresee; and nieces and nephews, Leisa Foresee, Heather Cook, Randy, and John Stackhouse.

Pallbearers were Douglas Becker, Jamie Foresee, Houston McElroy, Tyler McElroy, Derek Foresee, and Greyson Foresee. Robbie Hayes
