Kevin D. Hendrix, 61, passed away March 6, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH, with his family by his side. He was born August 28, 1960 in Paragould, AR to Sonny Hendrix and Pauline Rust Hendrix.

Kevin was a 1979 graduate of Valley View High School. After high school he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Riley, KS. While in the army, he was a cannon crewman and expert sharpshooter.

Kevin loved music; he played several instruments but had a passion for the banjo. After a medical retirement from the Army, he traveled the U.S. playing in Bluegrass bands. While on tour, The Bob Lewis Family, (Kevin on the banjo) was recorded for The Mississippi River of Song CD which was produced by and now resides in the Smithsonian Institute: song ''Born to be with You''

Kevin moved to Cincinnati in 2003 where he impressed audiences and the bluegrass community with his talent and charm. His move to Cincinnati made him wonderful lifelong friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Marion (Sonny) Hendrix.

Survivors include his mother, Pauline Hendrix; mother of his children, Karen Hendrix; two daughters, Elizabeth Hendrix and Samantha (Brett) Hendrix; grandchildren Conner and Amanda Hendrix; sister, Nena (Clint) Edgar; brothers Keith Hendrix and Todd (Jeanie) Hendrix; nephew, Evan Edgar.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Ernest Shumake, Bill Erwin, Willie Smelser, Clint Edgar, Ron Simmons, Matt Nickell, CJ Stephens, Frank Malone, James McGee, Chachi Echerival, Keenan, Stevie Snyder and Christopher Bishop.

Funeral service will be Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 2:00 pm, with Joe May officiating. Burial will follow at Herndon Cemetery

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service.

Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home is in charge of services.
