Mrs. McKnight grew up in Flippin, Arkansas, and graduated in the class of 1942. On July 4, 1946, she married Elbert F. McKnight and they made their home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and later in Memphis, Tennessee. After both retired from careers with the United States Government, they made their home in Clinton, Arkansas, and were long-time members of Clinton's First Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the church choir and other singing ensembles and led a women's Bible study group. More recently, she made her home with her son's family in Brentwood, Tennessee, where she enjoyed reading and following her favorite college teams, the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The family will greet visitors at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the chapel of Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Quattlebaum Cemetery.
