Gladys Mae Atkinson passed away peacefully at home in Hernando, Mississippi on February 17, 2022 at the age of 79. She was born August 1, 1942 in Tippo, Mississippi to parents Thomas and Irene Burns.

Gladys was of the Baptist faith and was retired from the University of Mississippi where she worked as a dispatcher in the maintenance department. She was a huge Ole Miss fan and loved supporting their sports teams. She especially loved the woman's basketball program. Gladys also enjoyed being able to travel when she could, even getting to go to Hawaii once. In her spare time at home, she read quite a bit also. Most of all though, she was a great mother and grandmother. She cherished her time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Randy Atkinson (Renee) of Hernando, Mississippi, her two daughters; Stephanie Huddleston of Senatobia, Mississippi and Renee Kadlac of Kansas City, Missouri. She will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren; Amber Glass, Tamara Hardin, Trent Carroll, Taylor Kadlac and Kayla Atkinson as well as her four great-grand children; Anna, Addy, Norma Kate and Mealah.

Gladys is preceded by her parents, her daughter Jenean Pyron, her brother James Bo Gattis and her sister Patricia Ann Prestage.
