Marvin E. Wade, 83, a resident of Scranton, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, at his home.

Marvin was born February 2, 1939, in Abernathy, Texas to the late Dennis Richard and Alta Leona (Jackson) Wade. Marvin served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Marvin spent his working years in propane distribution, most recently with Amerigas. He also retired from the Paris Fire Department and was member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton and the Catholic War Veterans.

In addition to his parents Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Catherine Wade; a grandson, Jaydon Wade, a great granddaughter, Presley Hood and a sister, Carol Boyd.

Survivors include five sons, Marvin D. Wade and wife, Lisa of Subiaco, Kevin Wade and wife, Tina of Ramona, California, Mark Wade of Scranton, Harold Wade of Scranton and Greg Wade and wife, Ashley of Magazine; four daughters, Angela Dickson and husband, John of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Barbara Geels and husband, John of Scranton, Deborah Vredenburg and husband, Wayne of Paris and Jennifer Grisham and husband, Donald of Scranton; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and a brother, James Wade and wife, Donna of Lubbock, Texas.

Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton with Fr. John Miranda officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the United States Honor Guard will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Scranton under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
