Nola June Coleman Houston, 89, of Jonesboro AR, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at NEA Baptist Hospital. Nola lived in Jonesboro all of her life except for the first few years when she lived in the Union Grove community North of Jonesboro. She was born October 17, 1932 in Bono to Watson M. and Mary L. (Meeker) Coleman. She attended a one room school in Union Grove for the first four years, with the rest of her school years in Jonesboro. Nola was a homemaker and worked at GE for a short time. She was a member of the Fisher Street United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Arnold Houston; a son, David Houston; brothers, Alvie, Ernest, Kenneth, Donald, Darrell, and Sammy Coleman; and sisters, Thelma Garrison, Edith Henderson, Betty Overman and Mary Jean Coleman.

Those left behind to cherish her life include a daughter, Brenda Woechan of FL; a granddaughter, Kimberly Darrow of IN; a great-grandchild, Kevick Clemen of IN; two brothers, Carl Coleman and Gary Dale Coleman both of Jonesboro; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday at Fisher Street United Methodist Church, 301 N. Fisher in Jonesboro with Rev. Jim Markley and Dr. Charles Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will precede the service at the church beginning at 1 pm.

Mike Causey, Nathan Coleman, Rusty Coleman and Randy Coleman will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, please consider the AR Children's Hospital in Little Rock or the Fisher Street United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

The family requests everyone to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
