Barbara Nell Moore, age 93, of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Hillcrest Home. She was born November 1, 1928, in Everton, Arkansas, to Dwight and Willa (Trammell) Anderson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth C. Moore; and her brother, Donald Anderson.

Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Chris Hinkle, of Harrison; her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Susan (who was more like a daughter) Moore, of Rogers; her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Susan Anderson, of Harrison; two granddaughters, Jennifer Stanley of Indiana, Pennsylvania and Kelsey Bardwell of Harrison; three grandsons, Zach and Timothy Moore of Rogers and Jonathan Moore of Shelby, North Carolina; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Barbara, known as Bobby to her family, was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Harrison for about 70 years. She was the church pianist and also accompanied the church quartet, in which her husband sang. She taught Sunday school classes for most of those years, the Ladies Dorcas Class being the last class she taught. She loved studying the Bible and would start studying on Monday morning to get ready to teach the following Sunday.

Barbara was a great country cook. She was known for her pie crusts, apple dumplings, dressing, and decorating birthday cakes for family birthdays. Canning food that was grown in Kenneth's garden wasn't a novelty, it was a yearly routine. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothes, altering, and repairing any clothing that the family brought to her. She made many quilts and quilted with the quilting ladies at the First Assembly of God. Whatsoever her hands found to do she did it well. It was always a quality job. Barbara was a kind, quiet person, who did not mind being in the background. Her beautiful smile will be missed by everyone who knew her.


The memorial service was Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1329 W. Stephenson, Harrison, Arkansas.
