Wallace Waters

of Harrison, AR

April 15, 1939 - December 7, 2021

Wallace Waters, age 82, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born April 15, 1939, in Parthenon, Arkansas, to Roy and Eileen (Henderson) Waters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Billie Lee Waters, and an infant brother, Roger Waters.

Wallace was an industrious man who was blessed with many talents. He sold newspapers and garden seeds by the age of 8 and traveled with his family to the West throughout his youth to pick seasonal crops. From these humble beginnings, he became an entrepreneur who owned and managed rental properties, bought and worked farmland, and operated Waters Floor Covering with his wife Billie for forty years. Not only did Wallace love working, but also he had a passion for writing and playing music. His band, Wallace Waters and the Water Boys, was a local favorite for many years. Because of his successful songwriting and recording, he and his band were elected to the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.

Wallace's greatest joy was his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A man of integrity, he led by example, providing love, patience, and encouragement whenever needed.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Waters, of Harrison; his sons, Kevin (Laura) of Harrison and Kirk (Pam) of Harrison; his daughter, Kim Waters, of Fayetteville; his brothers, Freddie (Bessie) Waters of Harrison and Teddy (Wilma) Waters of Wayton; seven grandchildren, Ashley Waters, Chelsea Covan, Chance Covan, Curtis (Ashley) Waters, Nate Waters, Jacob (Leighton) Waters, and Seth Waters; three great-grandchildren, Kinley McGarrah, Tate McGarrah, and Harper Waters; and many other special family and friends.
