December 4, 2021
Mrs. Joy Bullock, 91, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, completed her life journey and went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Joy was born on January 25, 1930 in Carlisle, Arkansas to Charles and Gertrude Andrews. She married the love of her life, Harvey Bullock, on November 10, 1945 and they enjoyed 74 years of wedded bliss. Joy and Harvey lived in Stuttgart, Arkansas where they raised three children. Joy worked for Stuttgart Public Schools as a cafeteria manager and for Crestpark Retirement Inn as a Social Director. She was involved in many church activities as a member of Southside Baptist and enjoyed bowling with many friends on the Mallard Bowling League.
In 1997, Joy and Harvey moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering in her daughter's first grade classroom. She enjoyed traveling with Good Sam Camping Club and served as Chaplin. To all of her grandchildren and great grands, she was Nannie. She was so proud of them and their accomplishments. Her face would light up as she shared stories about them. Her greatest passion was cooking for her family and friends. She took great pride in making her children and grandchildren's favorite foods, especially her pies and cinnamon rolls. She was truly happiest when sitting at her kitchen table surrounded by her family.
Joy is survived by two sons: Roger (Sue) Bullock of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Cliff (Susan) Bullock of Kilgore, Texas; one daughter, Suzanne (Richard) Mell of Mountain Home, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Brad Bullock, Kandice (Tom) Alexander, Eric Bullock, Nathan Bullock, Katie (Phillip) Mell-Davies, Bridgette (David) Browning, and Daniel (Chelsea) Bullock; six great-grandchildren: Patrick, Iva 'Leigh, Lorelai, Adam, Barrett and TJ; several sisters-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a grand baby: Krista Lynn.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hiram Shaddox and the nurses of Hospice of the Ozarks that so lovingly cared for Joy in her final days.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Roller Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks. Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
