of Fifty Six, AR

February 6, 1942 - November 28, 2021

Margaret Eaker Alexander, of Fifty Six, Arkansas passed away Sunday November 28, 2021 in Mountain Home. She was 79.

Margaret was born in Fort Stockton, Texas February 6, 1942 to Robert Bailey Eaker and Cordelia McGehee Eaker. She never forgot her Texas heritage.

In 1955, at the Faith Tabernacle in Odessa, Texas Margaret was saved. She lived her life praising God with each beat of her heart. Margaret was an inspiration for all those around her. As a wife, mother, Mimi, and friend Margaret was a great encourager and recognized potential in each person she met.

When she was fourteen Margaret's family moved from the sand and tumbleweeds of West Texas to the rocks and hills of Stone County Arkansas. They settled near Alco and Margaret attended school at Timbo. She graduated as valedictorian of Timbo High School in 1960. On August 29, 1960 she married R.C. Alexander. Margaret and R.C. were blessed with two children, Gregg Lynn and Kimberly Ann. After the birth of her children Margaret earned her Master of Science in Education. She began her teaching career in 1972 at Timbo. Later she taught school at Mountain View until her retirement in 2006. Although Margaret retired from teaching in 2006, she was a lifelong educator. Margaret loved to learn new things and had a knack of sharing her knowledge in a loving way. In addition to teaching school Margaret worked at Blanchard Springs Caverns near Fifty Six until a stroke changed her life on June 2, 2011. While teaching and working at Blanchard Springs Margaret made precious lifelong friends.

Margaret loved to spend time with her family. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was profound. She also loved to travel. She and R.C. traveled to many states and visited many of the places that Margaret had longed to see. She had a passion for antiques and found delight in finding a piece that could be useful once again.

Margaret is survived by her husband, R.C., her children: Gregg (Donna) Alexander of Flippin, Kim Hudspeth (Tim) of Fifty Six, grandchildren: Zach Alexander, Lindsay (Blake) Marotti, Grant Hudspeth, Audra Hudspeth, Kyle (Alisha) Benedict, Bryan (Andrea) Benedict; eight great-grandchildren, her sister Bernice Thornton of Quitman, Arkansas; and several dearly loved nieces and nephews.
