James Calvin Henry, age 91, of Sherwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 13, 2021. He was born on June 14, 1930, to the late James and Gladys Henry.

James graduated from Little Rock Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Air Force.

James was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He was a giver, not a taker, and always put others before himself. That is the kind of person he was.

James loved all kinds of sports. He especially loved playing golf with his son-in-law David and his grandson Chris. He was a coach for the Little Rock Air Force Base Baseball Team, and even played ball for the team. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior before he died, and we find comfort in knowing that. We know it is just a matter of time until we see him again, in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Henry, daughter, Cynthia (David) Haynie; son, Mark Henry; grandson, Christopher Haynie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ann Smithwick.

Services will be private.
