Daisy Lucille Coffield

of Fayetteville, AR

September 21, 1925 - October 14, 2021

FAYETTEVILLE. Daisy Lucille Coffield, 96, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, October 14th, 2021. The youngest and eleventh child of Thomas Samuel and Lillie Mabel Rogers Holeman, Daisy was born on a farm outside Drumright, Oklahoma on September 21st, 1925. After graduating from Olive High School and attending Tulsa Business College, she traveled alone across the country to marry Abraham Walker ''Dub'' Coffield on September 4th, 1945 in Wickford, Rhode Island where Dub was stationed in the Navy. Their courtship started in Drumright when Dub would walk Daisy home from her part time job at the Brasel's Drug Store soda bar. They were married for over 65 years.

Daisy was preceded in death by her husband Dub, her parents, and all ten brothers and sisters. Daisy is survived by her daughter Allyce and husband Hal Capps of Fayetteville, a devoted caregiver to her mother for over six years. She is also survived by her sons, Don and wife Cathi Coffield of Middletown, New Jersey and David and wife Becky Coffield of Little Rock, Arkansas as well as her five grandchildren Colin Walker Capps and Lindsey Caitlin Capps of Fayetteville, Emily Rose Coffield of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Truett Walker Coffield and Parker David Coffield of Little Rock. The family would like to thank Sarah Longstreth and all of Katherine's Place Nursing Home for their devoted care to Daisy for the past four years.

Daisy was a hard worker and positive light all her life, raising her family as a devoted mother to her children while working full time. She was an executive secretary with firms in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Springfield, Missouri, and Fayetteville, Arkansas, and was affectionately known as ''Miss Daisy''. Daisy and Dub retired to Little Rock to be closer to her children and her grandchildren. She loved to play the piano and continued to play her beloved hymns and songs until the end. ''Shine On, Harvest Moon'' was one of her favorites. She and Dub devoted many years to research into their ancestry. She wrote descriptions of her branch of the Holeman family and Dub's branch of the Coffield family, containing narratives on their ancestors, siblings, and their children. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a faithful Christian all her life. She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at 1 PM.
