Jan Yurkowski, 72, of Mountain Home, Arkansas was gifted her angel wings on October 5, 2021 after losing her battle with Parkinson's Disease. Jan was a native of Mountain Home and was born on March 14, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Jack Bonner and Coye Sheid.

Jan graduated from the University of Arkansas, class of 1970. She married her college sweetheart, Jim Thompson (Highland Park, Illinois). They had two children, Joy Anna Thompson (Key West, Florida) and Melissa Gail Rosella (Phoenix, Arizona).

Jan divorced in 1980 and became a well-loved elementary and middle school teacher for sixteen years.

While residing in Texas, Jan fell in love and married Vincent J. Yurkowski in 1988. She became the bonus mom to Vince's two children, Michele Yasenak (Spring Lake, Michigan) and Vincent Louis Yurkowski (Spring Lake, Michigan). Jan and Vince were married for 31 years.

Jan was a lover of people and a humanitarian. She participated in multiple service trips to Peru, worked as a Pink Lady at the hospital, devoted her time as a Hospice volunteer, and was an assistant at the local library. She donated to several charities and sponsored multiple children through the Children's International Organization.

Jan was a master gardener, lover of nature, a talented photographer, and a creative stained-glass artist. She also made beautiful dried flower cards in her spare time. She was a devoted Christian.

Jan will be greatly missed by her children. She was the much- loved grandmother of three (Phoenix, Arizona): Hope (9), James (7), and Grace Rosella (20 months). Jan is survived by three nieces: Amanda Raney (Salesville, Arkansas), Julie Williamson (Houston, Texas), and Polly Roten (Fayetteville, Arkansas). Her two caring son-in-laws, Brian Rosella (Phoenix, Arizona) and John Yasenak (Spring Lake, Michigan), will miss her. Her cousin, Richard Sheid (Mountain Home), is also a beloved survivor.
