Charlotte Jesse Sutherland Alison Waldrip, a precious daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, and friend, departed this life on October 10, 2021 for a life in eternity with her heavenly family. She was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on May 17, 1925 to Charles Evermund and Jesse Cameron Alison. She was youngest of 3 daughters.

She was a devoted and loving Christian, wife, mother and friend always giving to others at her own sacrifice. Charlotte graduated from St. Paul Episcopal High School where she had received both piano and vocal competition state honors. She was attending the Whitman Conservatory of Music in Walla Walla, Washington in 1943 when she met her husband, William, who was a commissioned officer in the navy during WWII. They were married in the Episcopal Church in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They eventually moved to Moro, Arkansas in 1946 and have resided there ever since, raising a family of 7 sons and 2 daughters.

Along with taking care of the hugh family, she had time to devote to her music and church. She was active in playing the pipe organ and piano for various churches in Marianna: The First
Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews Catholic Church and St. Andrews Episcopal Church. She also volunteered her talents at many weddings and social events. Her musical talents also led to her becoming the first lady to receive the Paul Harris fellowship Award in Marianna which she was recognized for her record as the club's musician for over 30 years. Somehow, along with raising her 9 children, she was actively involved in family farm duties, ranging from driving grain trucks (usually with kids loaded with her) and other chores like milking cows, (even while 8 months pregnant) as well as freezing /canning food for the brood. Somehow, she found time to serve on the Marianna Library Board and occasional time to read and garden.

As time and age caught up with her, she eventually moved from her family farm of 70 years to Jonesboro. In her final years, you could hear her singing and playing piano at her residence in Jonesboro to the enjoyment of many others at South Winds.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jesse Alison, her 2 sisters, Jean Ice and Margaret Petrogallo, her husband, William L. Waldrip; 3 sons, William L. Waldrip, Jr., Christopher Waldrip and Joseph Waldrip as well as a grandson, Jonathan Edward Waldrip.

She is survived by 4 sons and 2 daughters: Charles Waldrip (Ann) of Bella Vista; David Waldrip (Juanita) of Moro; Don Waldrip (Debbie) of Moro; Jonothan Waldrip (Jan) of North Little Rock; Lynda Sapiro (Gary) of Jonesboro; and Janine Kimmer (Irvin) of Little Rock, Ar. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

There will be visitation at 1 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 followed by the memorial service at 2 at St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Marianna. Burial to follow to Marianna Memorial Park.
