Felipe Soto

January 8, 1943 - October 2, 2021


Felipe ''Felipito'' Soto, born on January 8th, 1943 to Vicente Soto and Ygnasia (Pruneda) Soto in Robstown, TX. He was a resident of Proctor, Arkansas. Felipe celebrated life with his 8 Siblings: Lupe, Vicente Jr., Jesus, Mario, Herminia, Maria, Jose, and Aurora. On October 20th,1962, he married the love of his life, Estella (Trevino) Soto, and was married for 59 years.

He is the proud father of 1 daughter and 5 sons: Maria (deceased), Phillip Jr & his wife Ronda, Paul & his wife Adriana, Steven & his wife Ruth, Matthew, & Jeremy & his wife Heather. He has 19 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family and friends.

He was a passionate musician, playing the bass, accordion, and guitar, throughout Crittenden County and Memphis, TN. Felipe also had the opportunity to host and DJ his own Spanish segment of a radio show called Victory 97.1 in Mississippi. His love for music later became part of his legacy that was passed onto his sons and grandchildren.

He dedicated his life in 1979 to ministry and missionary work, which spanned a time of over 30 years. Felipe traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico where he helped build a recreational facility for children. He traveled to Ecuador where he ministered to impoverished and lesser developed communities. Felipe also ministered in Memphis, TN at St. Jude Children's Hospital and Millington TN Prison Ministry.

Felipe mentored and participated in mission conferences in Glorieta, New Mexico and Las Vegas, Nevada and pastored in Waverly, Missouri for years to the Spanish speaking community. He was then called to Hope, AR where he continued his ministry of spreading the gospel to Hispanics in the area. Lastly, he was Pastor of a Spanish congregation at Olive Branch Mississippi Baptist Church.

His life and work will forever be remembered and honored through his legacy of faith and servanthood. He loved his family and the simple things of life. Felipe continued his journey with the Lord on October 2nd, 2021 at the age of 78.
