Vickie Lynn Freeman, 69, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away on September 16, 2021 at Methodist Hospital Olive Branch. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Bill and Alcie Minyard Smith on February 18, 1952.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 24 years, Billy Freeman who passed away on February 6, 2017.
She leaves behind two children, Jimmy Warren Edwards Jr. and Michelle Denise Wells (Richard Wells); three grandchildren, Deven Gage Wells, Mckenzie Taylor Wells and Jesse Lynn Wells; four great-grandchildren, Raylan Gage Wells, River James Wells, Saralynn Michele Shelley and Brody Alan Shelley; one granddaughter in-law, Jennifer Lynn Wells; one brother, Anthony Smith of Olive Branch and Sister-in-law Margie Smith of Olive Branch.

Vickie graduated from Germantown High School in 1970 and then worked for close to 20 years at Sharp Manufacturing in Memphis, Tennessee.

She loved her family above all else always putting them first before herself. They were her life and she was theirs. She was very smart and had a memory like an elephant even up till the very end. She had a great sense of humor and would keep you entertained at all times. Vickie was a painfully honest person and you never had to guess how she felt about something because she would tell you, and sometimes she didn't have to say a word. You just could see it in her face. She also adored and held a special place in her heart for all the many kids and teenagers that came through her home.

Vickie loved the beach and that was her cure for everything. If you were sad she would say ''Go to the beach'' If you were celebrating she would say ''Go to the beach'' If you got your young heart broken by a silly boyfriend she would say ''Go to the beach''. It really makes everything better she would say. In fact this obituary would not be complete without letting you know that Vickie did love her mixed drinks too. So to sum it up, a day on the beach with her family and a drink in her had would be a perfect day.
