With profound appreciation for a long and wonderful life, we announce the passing of Helen Cora Coleman, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on September 6, 2021. A long-time resident of West Memphis, she left us while sleeping peacefully at her home in Tampa, Florida. Helen was 88 years old, and predeceased by her loving husband, Tommy J. Coleman, who passed in 2013.

Helen was born on September 11, 1932 in Marvell, Arkansas to George Fowler and Mary Scott Fowler. While he was home on leave from the Navy, she met her loving husband Tommy J. Coleman, and she had eyes for no other since that fateful day. Married in 1951, they moved to West Memphis shortly after to start their family. Helen served as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, medical receptionist for Dr. Ford and Dr. Ferguson's OB practice and collection agent for both Dr.'s Scott and Deborah Ferguson.

Helen was the beloved mother of Mike Coleman (Fran), Donna Coleman Brooks (Steve) and Tommy J. Coleman Jr., the proud grandmother of Ginger Coleman, Matthew (Deborah) and Brian (Mary Ellen) Brooks, and loving great grandmother to Alex Hill, Sean Dwyer and Bella, Beau, Samson, and Delia Brooks. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers George, Maxwell and Jimmy Fowler, her sisters Mary Neill, Genelia O'Gara and Anne Charlton, as well as her grandson Ryan Coleman.

Helen lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, volunteer, and dedicated employee. She loved to cook for her family, and especially enjoyed fishing with her husband and grandchildren at Horseshoe Lake. Helen was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Robert E. Spillman Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star while living in West Memphis, and upon relocating to Florida, she was a Charter Member of the Deltona Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #326.

Most of all she loved her family and friends and instilled strong values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Helen was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in West Memphis. A celebration of her life will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 Pine Street, West Memphis, on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, viewing from 10:00 am to 10:30 am with service to follow at 10:30 am. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
