Margaret Ann Pearson

of Conway, AR

March 2, 1942 - August 20, 2021

Margaret Ann (Acre) Pearson ended her earthly journey August 20, 2021 at the age of 79 years after a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1942 in Conway, Arkansas at the Conway Memorial Hospital, the predecessor hospital to Conway Regional Medical Center to Evans and Verle Acre. She was the oldest of 4 children and was affectionately known as "Sissy" by her three "little" brothers, Bob, Russ and Paul. She was like a "mother hen" to them, even in the final days of her life. She was "Granny" to her beloved grandchildren. She grew up in Greenbrier Arkansas, graduating from Greenbrier High as an honor student. Her goal in high school was to follow in her Aunt Betty (Acre) Hammil's footsteps of nursing; helping others. But instead, she got married to Jerry Pearson the love of her life for 63 years on December 18, 1958. The new marriage sidetracked her nursing aspirations. Then in a few short years along came their pride and joy, Richard Pearson. With a new baby she did not see an option in going to nursing school so she began working in a factory in Conway. With her deep determination and support from family, and with continuing encouragement from Aunt Betty, she began college at UCA. Soon after graduation she began working at the same hospital where she came into this world and it was this same hospital where she spent 10 days in ICU, before departing this life. During her career as a RN, she moved up the ranks in ER, then to Director of Surgery, and after early retirement from nursing, she continued working as Director of Special Projects for Conway Regional Rehabilitation Hospital- from ground-up construction, furnishing, interior decoration and opening of those facilities.

Margaret supported her husband's family farming operation for 63 years- most recently at their Lollie Bottoms Farms.

In her retirement she enjoyed taking lunch to Jerry and spending time at the farm- being in nature and visiting with her son Richard, his wife Holly, and her grandchildren Mason (Jessica) and Alex Pearson who live on the farm, grandson Justin Mayor (Ashley) and great grandson Bo Mayor and a recently adopted grandson Joey Rios. She was anxiously awaiting the soon arrival of her great granddaughter Oakley Maelyn Pearson. She delighted in working in and decorating her yard; making it inviting to family and friends. She loved caring for family and often said, "Everyone needs a little help sometimes".

Margaret's parents, Evans and Verle Acre preceded her in death along with a dear sister-in-law, Anita Acre. In addition to Jerry and the above- mentioned family, she is survived by brothers Bob and wife Margaret Acre, Rusty Acre, Paul and wife Donna Acre. Besides family, there are numerous others who know, love and will miss her: cousins, aunts, nephews and nieces, friends and coworkers, including housekeeping staff, building maintenance staff, administrative staff, nursing staff, doctors and all other support departments of Conway Regional Medical Center.

Special thanks from the family to those tiring souls who work in ER/ICU, even amid the increase in COVID patients at Conway Regional, who tried every possible means to heal Margaret Ann.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later time. Due to COVID concerns, this may only be an immediate family gathering to celebrate her life of service to the health profession she loved and her Acre/Pearson Family for whom she was the matriarch. Margaret was a member of the Church of Christ having been baptized into Christ in her teen years in Greenbrier. She later attended the University Church of Christ in Conway.

Special thanks to Roller-McNutt for their untiring service for many years to the Conway Community during the most difficult times in a family's life- the death of loved ones.

Margaret's Online Guest book is available for you to leave your special memories for the family.
