Winnie Helen Morgan Hutto at the age of 105 years and 117 days passed away on August 4th, 2021.

"Granny" Helen was born April 9th, 1916, the third of four daughters of Thomas Walter and Bertha Edith Harrison Morgan of Scotland, Arkansas. Growing up in that time, farming was the main source of income for the family. It required the entire family to manage a large farm located down on the river two miles from their home. Hitching the mules to the wagon and traveling that distance was mostly an everyday experience. She grew up planting, hoeing, gathering corn and picking cotton along with her sisters and parents. Helen entered Scotland Schools and remained there until the Great Depression forced the school to close. Her family wanted her to continue schooling, so they arranged for her to board with a family in Clinton her sophomore year. She graduated in 1934 and was Salutatorian of her class. While at CSVTS (Clinton State Vocational Training School), she met and later in 1937 married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Pinckney Hutto of Shirley, Arkansas After high school graduation, Helen taught in a one room school up on Archey Creek at a place called Wollum and later at Star Mountain School near Shirley. After their marriage, Ralph and Helen moved to Williford, Arkansas where Ralph took a teaching and coaching position. It was here that their first son Tedford Norris Hutto was born. Soon after, they moved upriver to Hardy Arkansas where Ralph took a similar coaching and teaching position. A few years later the family moved to Little Rock where Ralph worked for the Civil Engineers. When WWII broke out in 1942, Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army. They sold their house in Little Rock and Helen and Ted moved back to Scotland where later their second son Dwight Pinckney Hutto was born. They lived with her parents while Ralph was away. At the conclusion of the war, Helen and Ralph bought a farm on the river six miles from Scotland and continued living on a farm and raising their sons. In the 50s, Ralph took a position of coaching and teaching at Clinton Schools where he remained for some 30 years. Helen worked as a salesclerk for over twenty years, first Berkowitz Clothing then later Lefler's Fashions Store in Clinton. Their boys both attended and graduated from Clinton Schools and each earned Master's degrees from a state university. Helen lost her beloved Ralph in 1984. Since that time, she retired and lived the rest of her life on the family farm near her two sons.

In all respects, Helen embodied the total meaning and significance of the word, Mother. She was always pleasant and positive in her thoughts and never judgmental of family and friends. She was a most loving, kind, and thoughtful mother to all her family and had many, many friends through her working downtown. She was a hugger and happy person always smiling and laughed easily. She often said she never made much money but made many friends. It is sad that we have lost her, but we know she is a blessing to heaven. She was a lifelong Christian, and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Clinton for many years.

Helen's three older sisters, Wilma Faye Morgan Standley, Ouida Raye Morgan Kincannon and Gwendolyn Ladoyne Morgan Craig preceded her in death at extended ages.

Helen is survived by her two sons Tedford Norris (Carol) Hutto and Dwight Pinckney (Carol) Hutto, of Clinton, her grandchildren Richard Scott (Cristy) Hutto of Little Rock, Jennifer Hutto (Chaz) Dillon of Greenbrier, Jason(Mercedes) Hutto of Washington D.C., April Suzanne Hutto (Stan) Carson of Greenbrier, Ginger Renae' Hutto (Lonnie) Duncan of Damascus, great-grandchildren, Riley Khoury, Abby Khoury, Emberly Hutto, Audra Russell, Brooke Dillon, Charlsey Dillon, Lauren Dillon, Evan Dillon, Isabella Carson, Dausen Duncan, and Mason Duncan.

Pallbearers Richard Hutto, Dausen Duncan, Mason Duncan. Chaz Dillon, Evan Dillon, Lonnie Duncan, and Stan Carson. Funeral arrangements are with Roller McNutt of Clinton. Internment will be beside her beloved Ralph at Bradley Cemetery, Clinton, Arkansas.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Friday, August 6, 2021 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Bradley Cemetery in Clinton, Arkansas.
