James Harold BriscoI am a Veteran.

of Harrison, AR

July 23, 1944 - July 22, 2021

James Harold Brisco, age 76, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away July 22, 2021, at Cox Hospital in Branson, Missouri. James was born to Mirl and Louise (Coleman) Brisco on July 23, 1944, in Harrison.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Brisco; his parents; his sister, Joyce; his brother, Johnnie; his brother in law, Ross; and his nephew, Guy.

James was a lifelong resident of Harrison, Arkansas. He met the love of his life in 1981, and on June 19, 1981, he became the blessed husband to Lorene and dad to Debbie. James and Lorene celebrated almost 34 years of marriage, and James and Debbie celebrated over 40 years of being daddy and daughter. What a blessing God gave to Lorene and Debbie when James entered their lives.

James was the world's best father and grandfather to ever exist. He was a wonderful brother to his siblings and best friend to his lifelong friend. Most of all, he was the most spectacular husband to his late wife. James and Lorene always had a toy to go play with-boats, motorcycles, jeep, four-wheelers. His fondest memories were camping and especially with his grandson, CJ, as a cub scout. James spent many years supporting CJ in their scouting adventures. Shelby was his darling granddaughter whom he picked on all the time out of love and affection. In later years, James and his best friend, Sonny, kept us constantly in wonder at what those two might get into next. He thought the world of his family and friends.

James was a long-time truck driver and bus driver. He spoke often of his travels, and always knew where something was at in the world if you described the area to him. He loved to help us plan out our routes for road trips. He was constantly cracking jokes and picking on people. That is how you knew he liked you. His smile was infectious, and James never met a stranger. He thought the world of his family and friends.

He loved to watch westerns and watch the garden grow outside of his window. He really loved helping to build things around the house and then telling us how to build things when he thought we were doing it wrong. He was so proud of his family. He secretly loved Lorene's little dog, Troubles, too, and took care of her just like he promised he would. He loved strawberry milkshakes and meatloaf.

In December 1999, James knelt down in his home to meet our Lord Jesus Christ and receive His full gift of salvation. James, along with Lorene, were members of Elmwood Baptist Church in Harrison. James was ready to go home to see our Lord and to see Lorene. Their love is once again united.

James is survived by his daughter, Debbie Waters, of Harrison; his grandkids, Shelby and CJ Waters, of Harrison; his sister, Jean Billups of Harrison; his sister-in-law, Betty Brisco, of Lead Hill; his brother-in-law, Harvey Rose, of Russellville; and his best friend, Sonny Wise, of Harrison. He is also survived by his niece Lisa; four nephews, Roy, Justin, Jessie, and Matthew, and their spouses and children; and a host of other family and friends.

The graveside service was Monday, July 26, 2021, at White Church Cemetery, with Reverend James Bryant officiating.

Honorary pallbearers included Sonny Wise, Roy Rose, Jesse Brisco, Justin Brisco, Matthew Trammell, and Gene Waters.
