Joanne Louise Swim Swindell, 64, passed from this life on June 29th,2021, at UAMS, The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, after a short illness. Her "Celebration of Life" will be at the Christian Life Center Thursday, July 8th, at 3 pm. Joanne's burial will be next to her beloved husband, Dr. Robert T. Swindell, at Highland Cemetery in Greenfield, Tennessee, on Friday, July 9th at 2 pm.

Joanne was born on May 5th, 1957, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, to Daniel and the late Crystal Swim. She graduated high school in Riverview, New Brunswick, in June 1975. For the following three years, she attended ABI, the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduating in 1978, she joined the ABI staff and taught the Bible for 15 years. In the early 1990's, Joanne moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where she met and married her husband, Dr. Robert T. Swindell in March 1997. Mrs. Swindell received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas Little Rock, William H. Bowen Law School in June 2003.

Joanne was very active and dedicated to her Maumelle community and to her church, the Christian Life Center in West Little Rock. She was passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ and wanted to share it with everyone, relatives, friends, and neighbors. She authored many books, two of which include the DISCOVER curriculum for Tweens and Young Teens and SEARCH FOR TRUTH, a supplemental guide for understanding the Bible. She will forever be remembered at the Christian Life Center for unlimited energy, her organizational and training skills, and her determined devotion to the work of the Lord.

Although she loved her native country, Canada, Joanne sought and received her U. S. Citizenship on September 16, 2011. Patriotic and politically vocal, she wore her American Flag lapel pin proudly.

Joanne is survived by her father, the Reverend Daniel Swim, Sr. (Marsha); sisters, Karolyn LeBlanc, Connie Corney; brother, Daniel Swim, Jr. (Penny); stepbrother, Trevor McAllister (Jennifer); brother-in-law, Brian Keddy, as well as nieces and nephews and her extended family: stepdaughter, Melinda Strickland (Brian); step-granddaughters, Mariah Smith (Zachary), Allyson George and step great granddaughters, Rylee Jo Young, Elizabeth Blake Smith and Aspen Blair Smith.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert T. Swindell, her mother, Crystal Swim and her sister, Ruth Keddy.
