Alice Faye Baumgarten

of Conway, AR

August 17, 1941 - June 19, 2021

Alice Faye Woodall Baumgarten, 79, of Conway, AR, went to be with our Lord in heaven on June 19, 2021. She was born on August 17th in 1941 in Warren, AR, to two very tired parents of four precocious siblings. Alice's late parents were John Thomas Edward Woodall (1905-1972), a retired floor superintendent for Potlatch Forest Inc. (aka the Bradley Mill) and Ida Clydell Stuart Woodall (1909-2000), a hard working homemaker. While raising their family, they ran a local grocery and gas store and attended First Baptist Church of Warren. 200 years of kinfolks, Woodalls and Stuarts, are buried in or around Bradley County, AR.

Alice was preceded in death by her very patient, kind and loving husband, Richard Charles Baumgarten (1940-2015) of Heber Springs, AR. They met while attending McNeese state and married on June 5, 1965, in Lake Charles, LA. Upon moving to the greater Houston area, they settled to raise their only son in Porter, Tx. Together they built a family woodworking business during the height of the 80's Arts and Crafts Era which enabled them to travel and see most of the United States of America while selling their products at shows in malls all over the nation.

She was also preceded by one much beloved brother, Kloyce Eugene Woodall of Hemphill, TX, and by a much maligned and feisty sister, Katie Marie Woodall Savage (1933-2019) of Bedford, TX. Being only eight years apart, these two loving sisters spent a lifetime fighting, fussing and never agreeing on anything until their very last breath.

Left to rue the day they ever crossed hairs with Alice Faye were her greatly admired, older brothers; John Bruce Woodall and family of Midlothian, TX, and Henry Dorman Woodall and family of Wood Hollow, NC, and many nice nieces and naughty nephews.

Alice leaves a grieving son, a loving "Baby Boy", Walter Baumgarten, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Baumgarten, and one grateful granddaughter, Ella Baumgarten, who she bribed for love with a new car and with many warm memories before passing.

Alice delighted at frequently visiting with family and friends over the phone. She loved catching up with her favorite niece, Linda Woodall Cantrell of Hemphill, TX, and with her best friend since grade school, Mary Joyce Mullins of Warren, AR.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date by the family. May she rest in Peace.
