of Batesville, AR

September 27, 1939 - April 14, 2021

Harlon Wayne Martin, 81, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

He was born September 27, 1939 in Batesville, Arkansas to Winfred Martin and Ethel (Tosh) Martin.

Harlon was a member of Ruddell Hill Baptist Church and in the recent years attended Compass Church. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard. He worked at Stanley Wood Chevrolet for 42 years and retired as the Parts Manager. He loved his family and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Harlon was a perfect example of the Heavenly Father's love for us. He had a strong faith; always finding the good in what some would consider a terrible situation. He always had a smile on his face and was always ''doing wonderful'' and he never complained. He had a great sense of humor and could always fill a room with laughter.

Survivors include his two daughters, Amy Caplinger and husband, Eric, of Jonesboro, Laura Morris and husband, Mark, of Batesville; one brother, Norman Martin (Jean) of Batesville; one sister, Janice Price (Larry) of Batesville; three grandchildren, Marley Anderson, Stone Caplinger and Olivia Caplinger; one step-granddaughter, Madi Morris; as well as nieces and nephews, Steve Martin, Dr. Shannon Greenfield, Kim Gleghorn and Karen Langston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Shirley Martin; one brother, Charlie Martin; and one niece, Vickie Jones.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Sharron Moore and Linda Clem for providing wonderful care to Harlon after Shirley's passing. They would also like to thank Dr. Ronald Bates and the staff at Wood Lawn Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
